Product information
DuroSpray refill to stick your podiatry materials
DuroSpray® DS Ortho3040 is a premium contact adhesive that dries very quickly and is toluene free. Developed especially for long-term bonding of genuine solid and perforated leather, EVA, cork, textiles, PUR/PIR, plastics, carbon, microfibers, balls, foams, wadding, covering materials, coverings, aluminum, GFK, etc. The initial tack is ideal for bonding soft and rigid materials. Thanks to the fine spraying with an extremely high proportion of solid material, you avoid glue breakthrough even with very sensitive covering layers such as Alcantara or microfibers. As usual with all adhesives, surfaces must be free of dirt, dust and grease. For preliminary cleaning of surfaces, use non-greasy solvents such as acetone. Always test DuroSpray® DS Ortho3040 under application conditions to ensure suitability before implementing the product in your production. The glue must be applied to both sides.
NOT RECOMMENDED for materials containing a plasticizer. We will be happy to advise you if you have any questions regarding use or special materials.
Specifications:
• Base: Synthetic polymer
• Total solid content: 25 - 27%
• Open time: up to 2 hours
• Evaporation time: 2 - 5 minutes, depending on air temperature and humidity
• Reactivatable by heat
• Application surface: 15-17m2 per kg
Note: actual usage depends on the nature of the surface and the amount of application
• Glue in solvent/propellant/flammable gas
• Can size: 22 liters / 13.2 kg and 500 ml aerosol
• Light color
• Storage duration: 15 months
Handling, Storage, Disposal:
• Before use, always comply with the safety data sheet.
• Optimal bonding results obtained when the glue, environment and substrate are at +18°C
• Operating temperature: min. +10°C / max. +40°C
• During use, do not store the can and the hose on concrete floors since the cold affects the behavior of the glue.
• Do not store above 50°C or expose to UV rays.
• Once the valve is connected, always keep it open and keep the hose under pressure.
• Before disconnecting the hose, turn off the pressure.
• Immediately connect the hose to the new container and pressurize to prevent the glue from drying.
• Only dispose of or recycle completely empty containers, in accordance with local regulations.
• Once the container is empty, open the valve completely; hit the pre-cut tablet with a non-sparking tool to allow any remaining glue to dry.
Application instruction:
1. It is the user's responsibility to always verify the suitability of the adhesive for the application by carrying out a bond test. Prepare the surfaces to be bonded and ensure that both contact surfaces are clean and free of dust and grease. To possibly optimize adhesion, polish the surface. For cleaning, use a non-greasy cleaning product such as acetone, avoid getting too wet with the cleaning product, it must dry completely before gluing. Please strictly follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the materials to be glued and, if necessary, contact ASK for advice.
2. To obtain a fine, even spray, only open the spray gun until a jet width of approx. 10 cm at a distance of 10 - 15 cm from the surface. At this distance from the surface, apply the glue quickly without oscillating and at a constant speed. Briefly release the gun lever each time you change direction to avoid unnecessary glue consumption. For more detailed information on handling, please refer to the VMT instructions for use, which you can also download from the attached documents.
3. Absorbent materials should preferably be sealed with a layer of glue. Proceed with the gluing itself after drying. A uniform shine is formed on the surface when the amount of glue is sufficient. If you have accidentally applied too much glue (puddling), check before assembling the materials that the glue has completely dried and that no solvent is included (approx. 5-10 minutes).
4. After spraying, allow the glue to dry, approx. 2 - 5 minutes (times may vary depending on air humidity and temperature). Check the drying state with the back of your hand. The surface should be tacky and matte, but there should be no glue residue left on the skin. Position correctly-
ment the substrates and assemble them by compressing them with appropriate pressure. And this, proceeding from the center outwards. The greater the pressure, the greater the strength. After contact with the glued surfaces, it is no longer possible to reposition the materials!
The glue can be reactivated by adding heat.
5. Bondings which are under tension or which are subjected to strong stresses (plastic core), are carried out
6. Immediate continuation of work is possible. However, the final strength is only reached after 24 to 48 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity of the air. Final hardening is achieved after approx. 7 days.
